The iPhone 16 family, which includes the iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and the vanilla iPhone 16, is expected to launch in September. Months have passed as rumours regarding the new lineup have been swirling, and most recently, a hands-on video of iPhone 16 series dummy units surfaced online. The video indicate camera specifications for upcoming Apple devices. The iPhone 16 series is also expected to include an all-new Capture button. The vanilla variants have a twin back camera unit, despite the Pro models look to have three sensors in the rear.

 iPhone 16 Series Camera Specifications

The iPhone 16 series' camera modules and action button were disclosed in an online video uploaded by AppleInsider. According to the hands-on video of the dummy devices, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will include a dual rear camera arrangement consisting of a 48-megapixel primary wide camera with f/1.6 aperture and up to 2x zoom and a secondary ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture and.5x zoom out. The f/2.2 aperture will be an improvement over the f/2.4 seen on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

Additionally, it is rumoured that the normal iPhone 16 series will include a vertically stacked camera unit rather than a diagonal arrangement. It's possible that macro photography will be supported for the first time on non-Pro iPhone devices.

According to rumours, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would have three cameras on the back: a telephoto, an ultra-wide, and a wide angle. Previously, the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the only device to have the telephoto feature. The 48-megapixel primary sensor from the current series, which has an f/1.78 aperture and a 2x optical zoom, might stay. It is said that they have 12-megapixel telephoto sensors with an f/2.8 aperture and a 5x optical zoom. Additionally, a pixel-binning capability that would utilize.7 micrometre pixels when shooting at full resolution or 1.4 micrometre when utilised as a quad pixel might be added to the ultra-wide camera to increase its resolution to 48 megapixels. It's expected that ProRaw photo compatibility will be available for the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Another  rumour quoting sources, in addition to the current image formats (HEIF, JPEG, HEIF Max, ProRaw, and ProRAW Max), Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a new format called JPEG-XL with the iPhone 16. According to reports, Dolby Vision 3K video at 120 frames per second will be supported by the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Said to be capacitive, it might be found at the lower-right corner. When using the standard app, you may zoom in and out with this button that looks like a DSLR.

On September 10, Apple is going to release new iPhone models. It is likely that the iPhone 16 Pro variants would feature somewhat bigger screens than the iPhone 15 lineup's models. Apple Intelligence may provide on-device AI capabilities to all of the phones in the lineup.
