The new ev from Renault has been spied testing in India which will be direct rival to the Tata Punch EV, Citroen eC3 and MG Comet. As seen in the spyshots it will be the indian version of Dacia Spring EV which is sold across the international markets.

Now lets talk about the interior, styling, engine specs and features of the car.

Renault Kwid Ev: styling and features.

The Renault Ev comes with a better traditional 
design unlike the most evs which comes with a unattractive design. The LED DRLS at the front 
of the car seems quite similar to the ones that 
comes in the new generation duster.The 
charging port of the vehicle is placed at the 
front under the DC logo. It also includes a split headlamp setup, a closed off grill, single wiper 
and rugged bumper design. Going through the 
side profile we can seesquared off wheel 
arches, side door trims and traditional door 
handles.

Since the testing version of the vehicle might be the base version it is seen with steel wheels. However the top spec variants might be seen with aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.
 At the rear profile it has rear wiper, integrated spoiler, shark fin antenna and edgy tail lamps.
The version of this ev which was sold overseas was 3701mm long and comes with a enough bootspace of 308 litres. Likewise,the indian verison too is expected to have same dimensions .

Renault Kwid Ev : Interiors 

The interior of the vehicle is painted in dual tone which gives exciting cockpit experience with a 10 inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a 7 inch wide instrument cluster. The other highlights are minimalistic centre console, three spoke multifunction steering wheel, circular AC vents and a stubby gear lever.


     To make its presence in the ev market the new kwid ev must come with more convenient features or something similar to the entry level indian evs. The version of this ev sold overseas had features like electrically adjustable door mirrors vehicle to load (V2L), USB charging socket, foldable rear seats for enhanced storage and handy storage compartments along with some comprehensive range of internet connected features too.

The car is loaded with safety features like electronic stability control, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, driver attention alert, rear parking camera and tyre pressure monitoring system. Along with that it also comes with ADAS features like lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition and emergency braking system.

Renault Kwid Ev : Range and Performance 

The international version sold overseas comes in two variants. The top spec variant is packed with 26.8 Kwh battery which produces 65hp and 113 Nm torque. The claimed range is 225 km in a single charge and 0-100/H can be achieved in 13.7 seconds. The claimed top speed is 125km/hr. The battery can be charged with either 7 kw standard AC charger or 30 KW DC rapid charger. The Dacia Spring Ev can charge from 20% to 80% in just around 40 minutes at public stations with 150- kW fast charger.


Launch and pricing of the Renault Kwid Ev ( Dacia Spring Ev).

As the demand of the entry level evs are rising in the indian market Renault would launch it possible soon by 2025. With some localisation made in the car we can say that it might be launched in an affordable price point. However the Dacia Spring ev which is sold overseas is among the most affordable options to buy in Europe. The lauching price in India can be expected to start around 11 lakhs approx.
